Golden Globes 2020: The Complete List Of Winners

Date: January 06, 2020

On the film side, Universal's "1917" stole the show at the 77th annual Golden Globe Awards on Sunday night, winning Best Motion Picture Drama as well as earning the Best Director honor for Sam Mendes.

Meanwhile, Sony's “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” picked up three honors, for Best Motion Picture Comedy/Musical as well for Brad Pitt as Best Supporting Actor and Quentin Tarantino for Best Screenplay.

Followed by “Rocketman” winning 2 trophies, with a Best Actor Comedy/Musical trophy for Taron Egerton and Best Original Song.

The big shock was that streamer Netflix went into the evening with 17 film nominations , including six of which forMarriage Story” — which entered the night with the most film nominations, and 5 noms for “The Irishman” (which  got whacked), but walked away with only ONE win out of the 17, which went for Laura Dern (Best Supporting Actress) in “Marriage Story”.

Joaquin Phoenix won Best Actor in a Drama for Warner Bros.' “Joker”, Renée Zellweger claimed Best Actress in a Drama for Roadside Attractions' “Judy”. Awkwafina won Best Actress in a Comedy/Musical for “The Farewell”, and Bong Joon-ho's “Parasite” claimed the Best Foreign Language Film win.

On the TV front, “Chernobyl” — which was tied for the most nominations (four) scored a pair of wins, in the Best Limited Series and Supporting Actor in a Limited Series (Stellan Skarsgard) categories. That win total was matched by both “Succession”, which took home the trophies for Best Drama and Best Actor in a Drama (Brian Cox), and by “Fleabag”, which nabbed the Best Comedy Award along with Best Actress in a Comedy (Phoebe Waller-Bridge).
